Bekok Dam

Bekok dam is located in the mid-western part of the State of  Johor. It is located about 6km off the Yong Peng-Segamat road and is also accessible by laterite road. Construction of the dam started in August 1987 and completed in November 1990. The dam was a component of the Western Johor Integrated Development project. Its primary function, together with Sembrong Dam is to mitigate flooding by Sungai Batu Pahat and was designed to provide a 25-year flood return period with maximum release of 50 cumecs. 

The dam comprises three main dams (Main Dam 1A, 1B and 1C), eleven saddle dams (Saddle Dam 1 to 11), a gated flood release outlet, an ungated spillway, a grass auxilliary spillway, a diversion channel with compensation outlet system and draw off pipeworks.
